Exchange your vows in a civil ceremony in Italy, a very popular Italian wedding choice. You have the option to hold
your ceremony in one of the many beautiful Italian town halls, these are usually historical buildings or where possible
medieval castles, beautiful villas or ancient buildings. Local authorities have authorised private properties and museums
throughout Italy to formalise civil marriages celebrated in these magnificent places.
A civil ceremony normally includes the reading of legal articles related to marriage and will be made by the Mayor or his
delegate. Usually a sworn declaration is required, to be made in the town where the marriage will take place, about 2-3
days before the wedding itself. You do not need to be an Italian citizen to avail of a Civil Ceremony in Italy and this
ceremony is a valid marriage for the purpose of law at an international level. You will need two witnesses over 18 years,
which we can provide if needed.
During the ceremony music is permitted along with readings and floral arrangements. We have a special selection of
fantastic places where you can celebrate your civil wedding outdoors also. There are very impressive surroundings in
Italy that are simply perfect for your wedding photography . Imagine your wedding album, with incredible pictures of the
Roman forum as a backdrop or the breathtaking scenery of the Amalfi Coast.
