Spello

The medieval town of Spello seems to melt down the hill which it graces.  Spello combines the medieval aspect of  winding streets and ancient stone houses with her Roman remains.  This Roman town is entirely surrounded by walls  which are one of the most accurate examples of ancient fortification preserved in Italy.  The old Town hall, built in 1270 and enlarged during the sixteenth century, has some frescoed halls, one attributed to the  Zuccari brothers. Weddings can be celebrated in either the Sala Zuccari wedding hall, so called for the frescoed walls contributed to the  Zuccari brothers or the large Sala Editto.
